The 3M Petrifilm Yeast and Mould Count Plate is a ready-made medium system for the enumeration of yeasts and molds commonly found in foods. Petrifilm Yeast and Mold plates contain nutrients suplemented with antibiotics, a cold-water-soluble gelling agent, and a dye to enhance the vizualization of growth on the plate.
WARNING: Petrifilm Yeast and Mold count plates are not intended to be used for in-vitro diagnostic use. It is easy to count yeast and mould colonies on Petrifilm Yeast and Mould Count plates. An indicator dye stains yeast and mould colonies to provide contrast and facilitate counting.
