These microencapsulated adhesives enhance the anchorage of threaded fasteners. The adhesive, coated on fasteners and dried, remains dormant until the shearing action breaks the capsules and allows the adhesive to cure at room temperature.

Typically, 3M™ Scotch-Grip™ fastener adhesives are used in the engine compartment, frame and chassis, interior fasteners and for safety-related parts. The product comes in two color-coded varieties designed for optimum performance at various temperatures. Water-based product designed to be pre-applied to threaded fasteners. Excellent resistance to automotive fluids and can withstand high temperatures and pressures. Typical applications are threaded fasteners for the engine compartment.
