These polyester backed tapes are used to splice many different types of films and papers. They all offer a thin tough polyester backing and high shear adhesive that resists splice breakage while offering a thin caliper for easy processing.
1.9 mil (0.05 mm) metalized polyester and polyester film tapes with acrylic adhesive. Available in Transparent, white, red, black, silver and gold colors. Used for splicing, holding, decorating, color coding and sealing.
Green, 1.8 mil (0.05 mm) polyester film tape with silicone adhesive. Adheres well to silicone coated surfaces. The green color and silicone adhesive make for easier identification and application when splicing silicone treated paper.
Green, 2.3 mil (0.06 mm) polyester film tape with silicone adhesive. Adheres well to silicone treated papers. Heavier duty version of 8402. use for splicing of silicone liners and papers, and splicing of films subject to high temperatures.
The thin caliper and tensile strength of the polyester backing, with the extremely high immediate adhesion and holding power of the rubber-resin adhesive system allow this tape to work well for butt splicing many low-energy surfaces such as polyethylene.
