Novec fluid HFE-71DA is a true azeotrope, with constant vapor and liquid composition at its boiling point. It is intended to replace ozone-depleting materials in many applications as well as certain aqueous cleaning processes.
Application Guide
Listed below are key applications for HFE-71DA. Documents specific to the application are listed to the right.
Cleaning Fluids
HFE-71DA fluid is a hydrofluoroether in an azeotropic formulation with trans-1,2-dichloroethylene and ethanol. Its increased solvency and low surface tension, as well as nonflammability and constant composition during boiling, make it ideal for immersion defluxing and degreasing applications. In addition, the ethanol component of HFE-71DA fluid provides enhanced removal of ionic contaminants.
HFE-71DA fluid is non-ozone-depleting, has a low global warming potential and a short atmospheric lifetime. It is low in toxicity and is listed as "acceptable without restrictions" under the U.S. EPA's Significant New Alternatives Policy (SNAP) program.
