The novel phenazine leuco dyes of this technology are particularly stable to oxidation under normal conditions. However, under imaging conditions, they are oxidized to give red, yellow, magenta and orange colors that exhibit good heat- and light-stability.
The unique dispersant molecules consist of both hydrophillic groups for good dispersability in water and hydrophobic groups for strong interactions with pigment particles. The result is a highly dispersed pigment that resists agglomeration on standing and resists thermal degradation and deposition on ink-jet print heads.
